I am a very lucky girl. I have been blessed with not only loving parents and siblings, but with very special grandparents and great aunts. At times it is hard for me to even distinguish the difference between my immediate and extended family, it all feels the same. In their own way they all had a very big role in shaping the person that I have become and they have all provided me with more than enough love to last 100 life times. Any of you that have had the pleasure of meeting my "Nanu" know that you can't meet her and not be touched by her genuine spirit and the warmth of her smile. And I can assure you that you won't be able to say good-bye without giving her a hug either!!
Me & Nanu Hamming it up in her room... This weekend I was back home in Winston-Salem to spend time with this very special lady. She is waging the fight of her life and is doing it with so much courage. I admire her more than ever and miss her terribly. So whatever your beliefs, please remember her in your prayers.
