Day 1 in San Francisco

Day 1 in San Francisco started with a long run for Laura and Jay.  12 miles for me.  Not sure what I was thinking given that we probably ended up walking 6-7 miles through the course of the rest of the day. After we got cleaned up and grabbed a snack we started the journey down towards the Embarcadero along the Warf. On the way we noticed the sign that said "Stairs to Coit Tower".  What he sign should have said was 2 million stairs to Coit tower and then maybe we would have reconsidered, but none the less...here we go

There were some beautiful views of the city once we got to the top.

Here is a view of Alcartraz from Afar.

Here are some views on the walk down off of "Telegraph Hill" via Lombard Street.

Looking back up at Coit Tower from the city.

After our walk in the hills we met back up with the cousins for lunch on the Warf and a little more sightseeing on foot before heading back to the car for some extended sightseeing.
Our first stop in the car was to check out the "Crookedest Street".  Laura got to drive down it...I can't imagine living and parking on this street...craziness!  Here we are starting the drive down and then at the bottom Jay and Corey got out to take some photos looking back up the street.

After the "Crookedest Street" we went on a search for some of the famous "Painted Ladies"...here are a few we found.  Beautiful.

Then on the way out of the city we stopped at Presidio Park and at some pull outs to get some views of the Golden gate from the South side and the North Side...here are some photos from the south looking north.

Then here are some photos from the north looking back south into the city of San Francisco and some breath taking views of the Golden Gate.
