Ragnar Trail Relay - WV 6-14-14

So, the team was back together for a team trail relay in the beautiful mountains of WV.  But this year they convinced Mommy to join in on the action.  Sounded like a good idea until about 1 mile into my first leg.  We had a HORRIBLE storm right as Anthony, our first runner headed out.  Tents blew away and there were puddles that would swallow small children...so they put on a storm hold for about 2 hours and then the fun resumed.   I of course had the brilliant idea that it would be best to get the 6.7 mile loop over with early.  Little did I know it was more like rock climbing the first 3 miles than running and that the trail would be a swamp, or that it would be getting dark....there were moments in that run when I thought that I would rather be delivering a third child than running...but I survived.  It took me 1 hr and 45 minutes to cover the distance, but  I never fell, so that was an accomplishment. When I was done I swore I would never do this again, but after I ran my second leg the next day, during day light, the mud was hardening some and the course was much less technical, I decided I MAY be willing to give it another go...time will tell.

Our Team!  Kristi, Jon, Evie, John, Me, Jay, Anthony and Andy....a great group of people!
