Look who can hold her own bottle

It is amazing how much our little girl seems to change day by day now. For the longest time she had no interest in holding her bottle, but now she gets so excited when she sees her bottle she puts it right in her mouth and tilts it up!!

Happy St Patty's Day

S.o today was Zoey's first St Patty's Day. She was also sporting her first Ralph Lauren dress. It was such a sweet dress that the Holden-Bache clan gave her. It was also her 6 month appt at the Pediatrician. She got 3 shots today. She definitely wasn't happy about the shots, but she was still her trooper. Her ear had cleared up again, which was great....means we can stop the yucky old antibiotics again.

Here are her 6 month stats:
16 lbs and 8 ounces - 50th percentile
28 inches long - 90 - 95th percentile
I love this happy face, such a sweet photo!

It's the luck of the Irish ya know! A sweet bid from Nannie and Poppop.

First Experiment with a Sippy Cup

Since Mommy and Daddy were both home with me again today, they decided to try something new. Here I am trying out my first sippy cup. The handles made it easy for me to handle and I knew just what to do with it. Not sure if it was the taste of the apple juice or how quickly it came out...but Miss Zoey made some funny faces!!

Spring Break Part 2 - San Antonio

After a nice visit with friends in Austin, we headed to San Antonio on Sunday morning. Mom and Dad splurged on a nice room at the Westin, right on the quiet end of the Riverwalk. We were so excited we were hoping to extend our stay, but they were all booked. Either way, we had a great time. Here are some photos of Zoey trying out the big girl bed (of course she had to sleep in her much firmer pack n play!).
Such a serious look, as if she was trying to tell me she was ready to go explore, enough with the photos.
Seeing if the bed is more comfy from a different perspective.
Chatting with my Aunt Krissy on the Telly.
Finally, the Riverwalk!! A view outside our hotel.
Taking a quick stop for a photo opportunity.
Loving on Daddy at dinner. He always makes me smile!
After dinner on Sunday we headed back to the hotel and Miss Zoey suited up for her first ever trip to a swimming pool. It was outdoors so it was a little cool, but she didn't seem to mind at all. her dad had her cracking up bouncing her in and out of the water.

Too cute!! I love her little halter suit :-)

Daddy and Zoey are BOTH having a great time in the water!
Snuggling up with Daddy while we dry off.

Spring Break 2010 Part 1- Austin

So, you may be wondering if Jay and I are a little old for Spring Break. Well, since Zoey goes to daycare at the college, they close for spring break, so she was all ours. We told her she was too young for Daytona...and since we will soon be leaving the great state of Texas, we thought we should do a little more touring locally. So we left Friday morning to visit the Fergusons in Austin. Marshall was Jay's roomie and teammate in college, it was so great to catch up with him and Liz and to meet their sweet little girl Summer. They showed us some great parks and some beautiful views in the hill country. On Saturday we drove up into the hills and hiked up to an overlook over the Colorado river and some amazing homes...multi-million dollar homes. Mommy hiked up with Zoey in the Baby Bjorn. She was all lathered in sunscreen and sporting her shades and sun hat...what a cool cat!
Beautiful views from the top.
The happy Johns clan. Daddy...

Picnic for Daddy's 35th Birthday

Zoey and Mommy tried to turn the entire weekend into Daddy's "Birthday Weekend". So we started with a picnic at Varner Hogg Plantation on Saturday. Clearly, Zoey was so excited she exhausted herself...so she slept through the picnic part of the afternoon.
But Mommy and Daddy enjoyed a beautiful day, the quiet sounds of nature and some yummy food.
The handsome birthday boy!
Still sound asleep!
But once lunch was over, we woke up our little angel for some fun in the park. Look at those bright blue eyes. She must have never really woken up because she played with us, but she never would smile.
Showing how well I can sit up now.
Love my blue bonnett!!
Posing with my daddy.

Picking up my toys.
My new favorite thing is blowing bubbles.
Mommy loving on Zoey.

Reading some of the history of the plantation and the sugar cane fields.

Zoey and the birthday boy!

You crazy people, fix my hat so I don't get sunburned!

In this photo you can see Zoey is finally getting a little belly!
