Sunday Morning 7-20-14

One Sunday Daddy was out running, so Mommy loaded up the kids and took them to South Charleston.  In downtown South Charleston there is the "Mound", which is supposed to be an old Indian Burial Mound.  There are stairs which wrap up the mound and a small flat, park at the top.  Zoey has always been pesting me to go up there, but never when we really have time to stop and do it, so today we did and here is the view into "Main Street" South Charleston from the top!
When we got home and joined back up with daddy we set out for one of our almost daily nature hikes around Loop Road.  WE saw lots of deer and this little guy crossing the road!

10-10 and Ollie come to Visit!! 7-11-14

10-10 and Ollie drove up to visit on a Thursday morning.  Since they got here early in the day they were here when the kids got home from school and Zoey and Karter were over the MOON!  Karter was fascinated and couldn't stay away, which was cute and scary!  He kept saying Owie, Owie! I loved it.

On Friday morning it was a big day for Zoey.  She had to do the first part of her early entry to Kindergarten testing.  Since the cut off day to start Kindergarten is Spetember 1st and her birthday is September 2nd, much to my dismay we had to go through the entire process of having her tested.  The folks at the school system made it seem like you would have to be Einstein to pass and the people at the school told me they had never had anyone start early.  Based on that I was pretty nervous, thinking they were going to have her trying long division or something!  But I should have had faith.  Zoey scored in the 95th percentile on the IQ portion, well above the 91st percentile required, so we had to go back the following Friday for Kindergarten Readiness testing, which she also aced.  Dr. Mullins who did her testing was reviewing her results with me and told me she passed.  Then he said the only thing you may need to worry about is....then he thought a minute and said, she will do fine, you don't need to worry about anything.  So after much ado about nothing, my little girl will soon be a Kindergartener!!

Long Ride Home 7-5-14

During the ride home Mommy ended up in the back when the natives started getting restless!!  So here we are making some selfies and practicing baby Oliver's name since he was coming to see us the next weekend.

The next morning Karter decided to try out Zoey's American Girl Jeep....I just love this face!!!

July 4th at Hershey Park 7-4-14

We spent the 4th of July at Hershey Park, one of Zoey's favorite places in the world.  Aunt Jenni and her cousins always show us such a good time when we come to visit!!  They make sure that there is always something special for the kids to do and this trip to the park was no exception...Zoey did the pirate ship with pop-pop, cars with daddy and uncle Jeff, train with everyone, water ride with Emma, whirls and twirls and spins with Duncan and coasters with Mommy!  We were in the park going strong for 12 hours!!  Big thanks to Nannie and Pop-pop for taking our little man home around dinner time.  He enjoyed some of the kiddie rides as well.  Here are some photos of all the fun!

3 Generations of Johns Men 7-2-14

For The Fourth of July we went to Harrisburg to spend the long weekend with our family.  When we got there the kids were rowdy from the long trip, so we took a walk around Nannie and Pop-pops neighborhood.  I think this is a very sweet photo of the Johns boys!
